MOODHA OKHRA

An alternative Fashion

In a current context where the environment, Fast Fashion and particularly the management of unsold clothing (potentially reusable), are becoming priority and urgent issues, the Goethe-Institut Tunis and the Pontalent association have together built an educational project in Tunisia.

Entitled “Moodha Okhra”, this project aims to raise awareness and unite an active community of creators, experts and committed consumers, who would be likely to trigger a responsible and more sustainable fashion movement.

Moodha okhra is an awareness program with two complementary components:

The ‘Moodha-Up’ program around fashion upcycling:

Starting from old pieces that have already been used or scraps of fabric to create new pieces is an exciting and creative challenge that requires a lot of work. Moodh’Up is a collective and personalized support program specialized in fashion upcycling and intended for fashion designers.

Initially, the various modules and workshops offered are essentially based on a theoretical component in order to introduce participants to responsible and circular fashion. Then, in a second step, on a practical aspect at the level of styling, model making and marketing… The final objective of Moodh’Up is to develop, display and market an upcycled collective collection of quality clothing and accessories.

Awareness-raising actions aimed at the general public for the emergence of a more conscious and circular fashion at a time when we all need to be aware of the way we consume.

A rich and multi-format program has been imagined around webinars, practical workshops, exhibitions and a “barter” session in collaboration with committed partners and brands.

The goal is to raise public awareness of an alternative fashion that is more respectful of nature and people, to learn how to consume better, wear your clothes creatively through transformations and know how to maintain them to extend their lifespan.

Together, let’s engage in an alternative fashion!
